Adaptog delivery: UK, EU and worldwide shipping

A sealed, labelled cardboard parcel being handed over for delivery

Delivery times, packaging, paperwork and customs: everything to know about shipping with Adaptog.

Adaptog ships research materials from warehouses in the United Kingdom and the European Union to customers around the world. This guide covers Adaptog delivery times, packaging, paperwork and customs.

Adaptog delivery times

  • United Kingdom: 1 to 3 working days.
  • European Union: 3 to 7 working days.
  • Rest of the world: 7 to 11 working days.

Orders placed after 2 PM, at weekends or on public holidays are processed the next working day.

Where Adaptog orders ship from

Stock is held at Thetford for the UK and Amsterdam for the EU, so orders can be sent from the warehouse closest to the customer. Every unit is recorded by lot, from the shelf to the shipment. See Adaptog locations for more about each site.

Packaging and documents

Orders are dispatched in protective packaging suited to the format, with the documentation included. Each shipment travels with its lot documents and dispatch paperwork, so the record of the batch follows it. Temperature-sensitive materials can be sent through Adaptog cold-chain shipping.

International logistics and customs

For orders outside the UK and the EU, Adaptog international logistics prepares the export and customs paperwork for the destination. International shipments can involve duties, taxes and customs requirements, and some destinations have import requirements for research materials. Tell us where the order is going so the right paperwork is prepared. The full detail is in the Adaptog shipping policy.

Customs paperwork explained

When goods cross a border, customs authorities need to know what is in the parcel, what it is worth and where it is going. For international shipments, that information usually travels in a few standard documents:

  • Commercial invoice. Describes the goods, their value, the sender and the receiver. Customs uses it to assess duties and taxes.
  • Customs declaration. The formal statement of the shipment's contents, often generated from the commercial invoice.
  • Supporting documents. Depending on the destination and the material, this can include product documentation such as a Safety Data Sheet or Certificate of Analysis.

Accurate paperwork is the single biggest factor in avoiding customs delays. That is why Adaptog asks for the destination before an international order ships.

Duties, taxes and who pays

Import duties and taxes are set by the destination country, not by Adaptog. They depend on the type of goods, their value and local rules. In general, international shipments can be sent with duties paid by the receiver on arrival, or with duties arranged in advance. The Adaptog shipping policy sets out how this works for Adaptog orders.

Tips for a smooth international delivery

  • Give a full delivery address. Include the organisation name, building, department and a contact phone number.
  • Check local import rules first. Some countries have specific requirements for research materials. Your institution's procurement or compliance team will usually know.
  • Plan around weekends and holidays. Orders placed after 2 PM, at weekends or on public holidays are processed the next working day, and public holidays at the destination can add time too.
  • Make sure someone can receive it. This matters most for cold-chain shipments, which should be opened and stored promptly.

Tracking and delays

Adaptog orders are tracked through to delivery. Most delays on international orders happen at customs, usually because paperwork is incomplete or the destination needs extra information. If a shipment is held, the carrier or customs authority will normally contact the receiver. Respond quickly and, if you need documents such as the Certificate of Analysis, contact Adaptog support with the lot ID.

Ordering from Adaptog

Research reference materials are ordered through the Adaptog trade portal at adaptog.co.uk. For services, custom requirements or anything that needs scoping, use the quote form instead.

If something goes wrong

If anything arrives damaged or the paperwork does not match, contact Adaptog support with the lot ID. Returns must be requested within 30 days of delivery, and opened or used research materials cannot be accepted. See the returns policy for details.
